Two Fun Opportunities to Support Education in Tacoma

In just a few weeks, there will be two very important fundraisers to support education in Tacoma. As tax revenues continue to decrease so, of course, do school budgets – so assistance from these events becomes even more important.

Tacoma School of the Arts (SOTA) will hold its annual fundraiser, Artrageous, at the Murano Hotel Bicentennial Pavilion April 16th. SOTA and SA MI (Tacoma Science and Math Institute) both benefit from this event. Please consider a donation and/or attendance for this great event. Always great entertainment and assistance by the students themselves. Tickets are $75.00 each.

Visit the SOTA website for more information.

Next will be Sizzles, the Bates Technical College annual fundraiser, which takes place at the Pacific Grill Event Center April 21st. The money raised at this event is used to give scholarships to students and aid instructors by purchasing much-needed material and equipment that cannot be budgeted – especially these days – from administration. Please consider a donation and/or attendance for this great event. The Pacific Grill provides appetizers (delicious!) and Sizzles attracts many of the most interesting people in our community.

Visit the Bates website for more information.

I just put in a comment so people might be curious, go the the “Keep Reading” section and check out Bates’ Sizzles.

I also want to chime in with a recommendation for the Artrageous event. My favorite charity event of the year in Tacoma!
