United Way As Mixed Use Visionary
Dan Voelpel’s Sunday column found itself in interesting territory. Specifically, a parking lot at South 15th and Pacific that is centrally located and potentially available for the developer with the right ideas. The seller, the United Way, is under no real pressure to sell. Their building is paid off and the lot generates income. To them, the right developer will do a reasonable high density mixed use project with a focus on retail, commercial, and possibly, a movie theater. Reading the article it sounds as though the United Way has a good vision and it’s refreshing to see a landowner wanting to be part of a long term Tacoma solution. Please hold out for the right developer…
