University of Puget Sound Capital Campaign - Largest Ever
The University of Puget Sound has announced its most ambitious capital campaign ever, with a total goal of $125 million. With $74 million already pledged, they’re more than half-way there, but the remaining half is still a dauntingly large sum.
The campaign will provide support for a list of items including $44 million for expanded scholarships alone, faculty support, facilities (including the recently completed Weyerhaeuser Hall), and “community engagement programs such as the Civic Scholarship Initiative, Sound Policy Institute, and Race and Pedagogy Initiative.”
The campaign will advance Puget Sound’s position as a leading national liberal arts college by endowing faculty positions in innovative, interdisciplinary programs; building new facilities for learning and research; expanding scholarships for students and support for faculty members; and affirming Puget Sound’s commitment to the community through initiatives dedicated to stimulating progress in the region.
Sounds like a good thing to us. For more information on the campaign, visit www.pugetsound.edu.
