Urban Tanning Spa on Pacific

Looking back a few years, as we talked about Tacoma’s future, did any of you predict that day spas and tanning beds would be a fundamental part of Tacoma’s new downtown experience?  I didn’t.  So, we have another one coming.  Urban Tanning Spa put up their sign on 711 Pacific Avenue right next to the Matador last week.  We had heard that they are renovating a fairly large space – pouring in a new floor, all new plumbing and electrical, ripping out the 20’ ceiling and building out from nothing.  Impressive… particularly for a tanning salon.  But now we can get even more excited because they have a construction slideshow on their website. 

The last tenant to fill the building with this tanning spa and the Matador is rumored to be a realtor representing a nearby condo project.  No other details have come out yet – at least that I’ve heard.
