UWT Urban Studies Forum 2010: Waterfront Tacoma

I am pleased to invite all of you to join the University of Washington Tacoma for a day of public deliberation about the city’s shoreline. What are the key elements of the new Shoreline Master Program update? How will it affect future waterfront development? Who and what are we planning for on the waterfront? Can we cope with environmental degradation, while supporting economic and social health? Have we invested enough in public access to the water? And how do citizens get involved in waterfront planning?
Hear from local scholars and practitioners. Talk with UWT student-researchers and add your own voice to the mix.
It’s an all day event on Thursday January 28th. Skip work. Skip class. Join us!

Nice photo. The Tacoma tideflats often bring to mind Long Beach, California.
The forum is another great public service from UWT and friends.
