Volunteer for PCAF's Dining Out for Life
The Pierce County AIDS Foundation’s Dining Out for Life is in it 18th year in Pierce County. The one-day event raises much of the funding that supports PCAF’s mission of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS and offering assistance to those affected by the disease.
The premise of Dining Out is a simple one: participating restaurants who support the cause sign up to donate 25% of their proceeds from all meals eaten that day. Anyone who eats out at a participating restaurant on the day of the event is automatically helping PCAF. Some supporters dine out at a different restaurant for each meal to maximize their contribution (sounds like a great excuse to eat out!). This year more than 70 restaurants in the South Sound area are participating.
Dining Out For Life South Sound
When: Thursday, April 26
Where: More than 70 participating restaurants around the South Sound.
Details: For more information, including a list of participating restaurants, visit
www.DiningOutforLife.com/Tacoma.
And it’s not too late to volunteer to be a Dining Out Volunteer Ambassador.
Volunteer ambassadors represent PCAF in one of the participating restaurants by working one four-hour shift. Training provided by PCAF gives ambassadors talking points and other training to greet and thank diners. Last year Dining Out volunteers helped raise half of PCAF’s total funds for the year. There are currently plenty of shifts available, and they would love to add a few new names to that legacy.
Ambassador Orientations: April 11 at 6:00 p.m., April 14 at 1:00 p.m., and April 18 at 6:00 p.m.
