Vote for Carrie Little
UPDATE: The deadline is tomorrow. Vote Now.
A White House Farmer. No there is not such a position at the moment. However, local food guru Michael Pollan has made a compelling case for one in the New York Times, and there is now a website devoted to nominating and voting for the farmer who should fill this role.
This is where Carrie Little comes in. She is the owner and proprietor of Mother Earth Farm, located on 8 acres of farmland in Orting. She worked for many years with Guadalupe Gardens in Tacoma. She and Mother Earth Farm have been working with Emergency Food Network since 2000, and the entire production at the farm is given to local food banks. I’ve helped out on the farm and had the joy of meeting Carrie. She is passionately devoted to the preservation of farming, healthy food systems and helping others.
So if you have 30 seconds, VOTE for Carrie. I can’t picture a better person farming in the White House lawn.

After leading for the better part of a week, Carrie has slipped into second place. Tomorrow is the end of the line, so everybody get out there and vote for Carrie Anne Little at http://whitehousefarmer.com/!

Facebook?
Yuck. That alone would dissuade my vote.
