Wake Up For Wapato - Tomorrow

Tomorrow is National Family Volunteer Day. Are you looking for something to do? Here’s an opportunity!

Tacoma Metro Parks, the University of Washington Tacoma, and the City of Tacoma present Wake up for Wapato November 22nd 10 am-1 pm.

Join the Friends of Wapato Lake to learn what you can do to help restore this community treasure.

• Take a boat ride with UW Tacoma Environmental Science students to
  discover more about the lake’s natural processes
• Visit with agencies and non-profit organizations that are working
  together to develop a long-term lake management plan
• Participate in a water monitoring and sampling session
• Join a litter control clean-up crew

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer lake monitor, please arrive at 10 am at the Wapato Lake boathouse to receive free training in lake sampling and water collection.
