Walk Tacoma 2012 - North Waterfront to Theater District

The North Waterfront to Theater District Walk this Friday, June 22 is the next in the Walk Tacoma 2012 series. Celebrate the summer solstice by getting out and enjoying the fresh air (we won’t promise sunshine…). Walkers can choose between two free walks: the “history walk” led by Reuben McKnight, Historic Preservation Officer with the City of Tacoma or a “power walk” led by Debrah Schneider with Fitness One. The 1.5 mile walk starts at noon. No RSVP needed; meet in front of the Pantages Theater on the corner of South 9th and Broadway.

And if you love these walks, and the work Downtown On the Go does to get Tacoma out and walking, you can support their efforts by purchasing a $10 Walk Tacoma t-shirt either at the Walk Tacoma events or the Broadway Farmers’ Market.

If its a solstice celebration walk, does that mean everyone gets nekkid and painted ala fremont solstice parade?

Yes, if you read between the lines this is a clothing optional walk.

Well that would explain the available $10 T shirt at the end of the walk. Hope it is extra long.
