Washington State Historical Society Launches COLUMBIAKids

Making history educational and fun can be a challenge, but The Washington State Historical Society is working to make Northwest history a pleasant activity for kids with their new online children’s magazine called COLUMBIAKids. The webzine will include features like Notorious NWesterners and a listener’s theater called Pod Puzzle with auditory historical mysteries.

COLUMBIAKids can also be used by teachers who want to integrate selected books by Pacific Northwest authors into their curriculum through the Northwest Book Swap program.

This definitely sounds like a step up from the Oregon Trail technology of our grade school days.

The magazine will go live August 15 at Columbia.WashingtonHistory.org/kids.
