Weekend Preview: music and mayhem

Nothing beats options for the weekend. And there are a few to chose from this week.

Top on the list is Gray Sky Blues Music Festival. The gathering of all folks blue starts right after the Tacoma Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Parade in downtown Tacoma Saturday, and it will feature some of the best blues musicians west of the Mississippi.

The festival occurs at several venues around Tacoma, notably the Harmon Brewery, The Swiss Pub, Cutter’s Point Coffee and Indochine Asian Restaurant. The Harmon will also be host to a Rod and Custom Car Show, while an “After Festival Party” is planned at Stonegate in South Tacoma.

For something more filled with giggles than gigs, Tacoma Little Theatre is offering the hilarious farce, “Noises Off” at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays through April 24.

An even more family-friendly option is the Youth Musical Theater Camp at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, which will be staging “Alice in Wonderland.” Shows are 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

So, there will be some acts that are down and dirty, full of giggles or just plain fun. Enjoy.
