Weekend Preview: all that jazz

Tacoma Jazz and Blues Festival is coming just in time for Memorial weekend with concerts on the slate for Freighthouse Square, Harmon Pub and Eatery and The Stonegate. Freighthouse Square will have the Big Band Stage downstairs with big band music from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with music running a similar schedule at the Harmon. The night crowd can get its fill of the blues starting at 8 p.m. at the Stonegate. All of the venues will have all-ages offerings.

For a rougher night around the town, the Toxic 253 and the Fort Lewis Bettie Brigade will hold a roller derby bout starting at 5 p.m. Saturday at Wheelz Skate Arena. Get tickets online.
