Weekend Preview: bard battle
The latest 100th Monkey celebration came and went last night at the Speakeasy Art Cooperative. It defined monkey business, with handmade sock monkeys proving to be hits.

Tacoma’s no cost art community gathering drew a growing pool of the city’s art supporters.

Last night’s event included a sneak peak at Shakespeare in the Parking Lot’s Shakespeare-a-thon this weekend. The fun starts 6:30 p.m. Friday with four Shakespeare works at the Speakeasy, 746 Broadway. Saturday will bring another set of four works starting at 3 p.m.
During the event, Bard lovers can see an eight-play History Cycle, courtesy of more than two dozen actors and a parade of couplets that run through the “Richard” and “Henry” works. Ticket donations are only $10 per show.
