Weekend Preview: from doggies to dungeons
There is more to life than bar-hopping and live music. Quiet times are good times. So with that in mind, here are some less-than-loud events to fill your weekend.
The Puyallup Fair opens this week for its annual 17-day run. This year offers Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, rodeo bouts, rides and all things arts and crafts.
On a more artsy side, the 253 Collective is hosting guest artist Jim Gates with Sky Doodles, a showcase of original bamboo and paper kites. The show and sale Friday runs from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
And for the geek in all of us, Saturday is Worldwide Dungeons and Dragons day, with events set for Comic Book Ink and other places around the South Sound. The day marks the release of the new line of role-playing products and introduction of a new D&D game.
With the weather being what it is these days, a day out of the drizzle could be in order.

yup, there’s nothing more quiet and contemplative than the Puyallup fair.
