Weekend Preview: more than ghosts and ghouls

Since it seems that every bar, gallery and coffee house is having some sort of costume bash this weekend, it makes no sense to list them. They will all have women in revealing police uniforms and men in Broke Back Mountain jeans. T’is the season.

For something a bit different, Beyond the Bridge Cafe will be having Phoenix shows, Friday and Saturday that will include artist Mathew Scott doing his live-painting thing alongside Matt Coughlin and The Growlers. Bonus acts include cabaret performances.

Coughlin is a band to watch, with its country-rock fusion sound and high-energy stage show. It is certainly a band on the way up to making it big time.
