Weekend Recap
Several folks have asked what we did this weekend given all the options in town. Our calendar had notes suggesting we go to the Blues Festival, Out in the Park, Art on the Ave, and/or start/finish countless home projects. In the end, the big event of the weekend was getting our new deck design laid out in Visio. Boring for all of you, but necessary for us. Much more exciting for everybody us was the successful demolition of the shed attached to our house. Somehow it came down without destroying a nearby window, stairs, or ripping the siding off the house. For such a precarious structure, it was built like a bunker and the roof had three layers of asphalt shingles. Ahhh… home improvement.
On Sunday we did make it out to Art on the Ave. I was impressed. The music, the arts, the new shops. It was good to see so many Exit133 readers and bocce players on the Ave on Sunday. It was the new shops that really surprised us. We knew they were there, but had never stopped in before. Now I know where to get good smoked paprika, a new sofa, even more wine, or wash my dog. This area is becoming more of what we would love to see in other parts of this city. It’s walkable with food, drink, and retail. The art was good too. As was the strawberry lemonade and the music. So many options; so little time.
Did anybody else enjoy the sun and get outside?

Now is when it gets interesting to see if it works.
