Weekend Review: A Fond Farewell

Marcus Walker was smiling from heaven.
His hundreds of friends gathered to give their final respect Sunday at his memorial service at Mason Methodist Church. The artistic director of Lakewood Playhouse, and noted actor in his own right, died from cancer earlier this month. The service had smiles and tears and bits of laughter, much like his life. It was a moving tribute. But there was another tribute that marked his passing.
The show he was directing at Lakewood before his passing,“My Name is Asher Lev,” also happened to end its run the day of his memorial service. The show was sold out, butting the theater in further solid financial footing.
Gosh, I miss that guy.
