Weekend Review: all but laying an egg

T-town didn’t disappoint last weekend. It seems like every place was hopping.

Anchoring the weekend’s art scene was certainly the Artifakt Live Art and Music Show at Hell’s Kitchen on Friday, with body painting and thunderous bass. Headlining the event was Pioneers West, with Elbow Coulee bringing a strong set of high energy fun. The defining show, however came from Tacoma’s resident burlesque troupe, The Gritty City Sirens, which also did a set at Stonegate on Saturday with a troupe from New York.

The Dockyard Derby Dames bout at Pierce College didn’t disappoint either, although the crowd was lighter than previous bouts this season. The energy was still high and the elbows were flying.

Toss in some egg hunting and church on Sunday, and the weekend was well lived.
