Weekend Review: prom drum

Another adult prom at Tacoma’s Sanford and Son Antiques came and went. Booze was downed, photos were taken and matches were made. Just like every year.

This year’s Bollywood theme created visions of silk banners, exposed belly buttons and sacred cows – well, one cow in particular – to aid the efforts of the Companion Animal Rescue Society.

Music came courtesy of Girl Trouble and Si Si Si as well as some classic mixes of Queen, Village People and Michael Jackson standards from DJ Infinity.

Good times. Good times.

One sneak peek for later this week is another event worth a look. Tacoma Art Place Placeorg is hosting a fundraiser starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Market Street’s The Villa Cafe & Imbibery. The silent auction and live music will be low key and mingle worthy, and I’m not saying that just because I am on the board. Music by Angela Jossy and special guest Erik Bjornson alone make it an event to add to calendars in T-town.

Now get out there and support the arts in whatever way you deem fit.
