Weekend Review: Proud of the Parks

The weekend’s annual Park Appreciation was uplifting. And not just because it actually occurred when the sun was out for a bit of it.

Park lovers and community volunteers of all sorts gathered in parks around the area code for a day of prunning, trimming and cleaning litter from grassy spots and forests they visit.

Having done more than a few parks appreciation days during the past decade, it was great to see that the parks were generally cleaner from the start than ever before. That meant volunteers could concentrate of sprucing rather than trash detail.

That proves that we love our parks – at least some of us do.
