Weekend Review: Tacoma Little Theater flicks a 'Flea'

The administration of “Tacoma Little Theatre”: http://www.tacomalittletheatre.com/Mainstage.php might be in flux following the sudden departure its artistic director Scott Campbell, but that jolt hasn’t translated to the stage so far.

The theater’s staging of the farce “A Flea in Her Ear” was clever, quick and cute, although a bit too cute. This version of Georges Feydeau’s comedy of mistaken identities, motives and actions in Paris during the turn of the last century is much like every “Three’s Company” episode ever created. Raymonde, the wife of Chandebise, suspects him of having an affair. She receives “evidence” of his infidelity and decides to catch him in the act. As it turns out, Chandebise is a good and faithful husband. Raymonde’s plot backfires, leading to chaos – yadda, yadda, yadda. All things come together by the time the curtain falls and no permanent damage is done. Toss in a few extra goofy characters and all is right with the world. The show runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through March 27.

And with a few family dramas, the weekend came to a close.
