What's Next for Transit?
With impending cuts to Pierce Transit, and tight budgets all around, the future of transit has more question marks around it than ever.
With that in mind, Downtown On the Go and Transportation Choices Coalition are holding a forum to discuss options for transit. The event, hosted by University of Washington Tacoma will feature a panel discussion of the role transit plays in our community and our economy. Panelists will discuss possibilities for public transit in Tacoma, and what may (or may not) be possible at the state legislature this year. Local leaders and regional transit advocates will discuss where we can focus our advocacy efforts at a state and local level, and how you can get involved.
Panelists include:
- Lauren Walker, Tacoma City Council/Pierce Transit Board
- Lars Erickson, Pierce Transit
- Rob Johnson, Transportation Choices Coalition
- Brock Howell, Transportation for Washington
The panel will be moderated by Kristina Walker, Downtown On the Go Manager.
