What To Watch For

Historic Tacoma has released a list of 2 districts and 7 buildings on their “watch list.” The buildings are in danger or falling over, being redeveloped, or just have uncertain futures.

The sites are:

• Brewery District including the Heidelberg Brewery
• Elks Lodge (we’ll assume they’re not talking about the one on Union)
• First Congregational Church
• Luzon Building
• John R. Rogers Elementary
• Murray Morgan Bridge
• Trinity United Methodist Church
• Union Club
• Wedge Neighborhood

A lot of these have been hot topics here in the past. At least one is looking hopeful.

Is something missing? Would you drop one in favor of another? Seems like we were just talking about historic preservation around here …
