Where is New Tacoma?

This house ended up in our inbox this morning advertised as a “New Tacoma Area Home” – except that it’s on the 900 block of North L Street.  We’re used to seeing “near North End” or homes declared as “North End” that aren’t.  We’ve even grown use to such honest creativity as “one block from a great water view.” Yet, this house that sits in the North Slope Historic District and within the boundaries of the North End Neighborhood Council is advertised as “New Tacoma”.  Curious marketing move given that the North End tends to be the more desirable neighborhood.  Is New Tacoma suddenly the hip place to be?  Oh, wait, the realtor is from Kirkland…

Hey kids, it’s time to work on our neighborhood identity some more.
