Who Has Tacoma's Hippest Home? A Contest

As I sit down in the evening and watch a bit of HGTV, flip through my DWR catalog, and read websites like Curbed or Apartment Therapy, I’ve begun to wonder what the ultimate hip urban tacoma home looks like.  How is it decorated?  How does it fit into its Tacoma environment?  I can’t imagine it being all slick like a DWR catalog or a New York real estate blog.  A lot of us have seen the model units at the Bridge, Vintage Y, and the Triangle Townhomes.  People don’t live in a model home.  There must be a Tacoma look somewhere.  I’m imagining a bit of old a new.  Something stylish, yet reminiscent of the past.  But those are just my images.  Maybe you have something else in mind.  Hopefully it’s not your mom’s shabby chic decorating sense.  Or maybe nobody actually lives in a hip urban downtown space and it’s all marketing…  So here’s my idea – let’s have a little ‘contest’.

Do you think you have the coolest downtown Tacoma living arrangement ever?  Do you have a view of the mountain and the water, the Heidelberg freize hanging over your mantle, and all your glassware comes from the Museum of Glass?  Or maybe your place is simply cool – for other reasons.

Send photos.  Tell us about it.  How do you enter?  Send an email to “contest” at exit133.com and include the following:

  • Name
  • Location
  • Type (Loft, house, apartment, brand spankin’ new condo)
  • 5 photographs (max)
  • What inspired you?
  • One secret to being hip in Tacoma

Our distinguished panel of judges will sort through the entrant(s) and determine a winner.  There will be prizes.  Okay, maybe a prize.  We’ll see what we can find… (Pssss… anybody want to donate a prize?  Send me a note.)

I’ll post a deadline at some point in the future.  The rules or requirements may change if needed.  Anybody want in?
