Would You Join the Food Coop?

We know you want a Tacoma food coop.  Join with your friends, family, and co-workers to help make it happen.  Rec’d via email:

What the nascent Tacoma Food Co-op needs right now is simply people to commit to being members of the place – were it in fact formed.

If you are interested in:

seeing a member-owned co-op in Tacoma; having a store that focuses on local produce and products; being part of a store that will listen to you if you want it to carry something, and; joining such a co-op; then write to tacomafoodcoop@gmail.com and tell Amber to mark you down as interested in membership.

It’s that simple.

The group forming this co-op needs to have the names of 600 people who will be interested in being members before it can start its formal feasibility study, which will lead to actual fund raising, which will lead to an actual physical location.

Don’t be shy – let Amber know you’re interested if in fact you are.  And if you know anyone who would also be interested, send them this email.  And if you’re not interested, ask yourself why.  Why does Olympia have two co-ops and Tacoma zero?  Why does Seattle have fantastic co-ops and Tacoma zero?  Why do those places see such value in co-ops?

If you want to get involved in helping form the co-op, ask Amber when you write her and she can help you figure out how to help.

If you’re already on the co-op email list, try to find it in your heart to forgive me for spamming you with this email.  It’s for a good cause.

Seriously.  It’s time.  Our email has been sent.  Send your’s today!
