Wright Park's Pond is Freed!
Maybe it’s been like this for a bit now, but we just noticed that the fence around the pond at Wright Park is gone. The Lady of the Lake, and the lake, are free!
We went for a quick walk around the pond today. Ducks swam in the water. Two couples walked with dogs. A painter sat on a picnic table… painting. The changes are really quite amazing. It’s looking great.
By the way – the Wright Park Re-Opening Celebration is scheduled for May 10th. We’ll see you there.

Wear comfortable, flat soled shoes so you can enjoy a historic walking tour. Pick up a map to hunt for Wright Park’s treasures. Stop in and become part of history, when you sign the register as one of the guests to visit the Conservatory during their “100 Blooming Years” centennial celebration. Test out the new Wireless service, a pilot project in the park. Pitch horseshoes…or just find a serene spot by the pond and soak in all the reclaimed beauty of this treasured downtown park!

On a walk last night I noticed how good the lakes looked, but totally forgot they had just been up. They look beautiful! So looking forward to summers in the park …

It is a wonderful beautiful park again. Metro Parks got one right and spent the public dime well.

Finally! It’s lovely! Were they just waiting for the grass to take hold? I’d been oogling it through the fence for months. Just curious. It’s one of the prettiest (unexpectedly) parks I’ve seen. Hooray!
