Year End 2005

In May of this year I flipped the switch on Exit133.com’s current incarnation.  In that time a lot has happened.  This site is supposed to be an experiment.  I was curious what would happen if I posted a few thoughts a week on the news, events, and people that I think about.    Would people read it?  Would they care?  Would they come back?  Maybe it would simply be a place for me to store my thoughts – diary like – for family, friends, and myself.

What have I learned?  RSS feeds are huge.  My friends talk about the site, but generally don’t read it.  My family reads the site religiously.  A lot of people are really scared of spiders, tarantulas, and/or bats.  The rest of you are generally fascinated by tacoma condos, real estate, and places to eat or drink.

Top 5 Most Read Articles

1. Costa Rica Trip Report – Part 1
2.  Tacoma Condo Roundup
3.  We Love the Thai Food, but
4.  Panamonicas Closing
5.  Tacoma’s Filthy 15

My 2 Favorite Search Phrases That Somehow Found Exit133
1.  making popcorn in Kenya
2. tarantulas lay eggs in bananas

Site traffic increased by 1500% from May to December with monthly visits now in the 10,000+ range.  Who are all of you?

This site is young.  We’ll see where it goes in 2006.  Expect to see a shift from shorter commentaries to longer articles.  Expect a bit more on Tacoma history.  Expect a few more contributors to start posting thoughts.  Expect a lot more photos.  I’m excited.

The signs say it’s closed 10/2/12 to 8/31/13.
