Zao Noodle at Kent Station

Last night, having found ourselves in a new town with new places to explore, we hit Kent Station for dinner.  Johnny Rockets. Ehh.  The RAM.  We had one in Tacoma.  There’s a Duke’s Chowderhouse.  Chipotle – Mexican food brought to you by McDonalds.  I don’t think so.  Zao Noodle.  Now that sounded about right.  The atmosphere is a no-country-in-particular asian influence with Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and other influences.  Chopsticks are located on every table.  We’ve been to the Zao Noodle at University Village on a few occasions and have always liked the food.  The Kent location looks similar.  The key difference between the Kent location and the Seattle one is the lack of a bar in Kent. No mojito with my Ginger-Garlic-Chili Chicken & Prawns?  Oh well.  Water works for me, I guess.  How was the food?  Good.  The portions are smaller than what we’d grown used to at a typical family style Thai or Chinese place, but the ingredients tasted fresher and the presentation was good.  We liked it.  We’ll definitely be back.
