2015 Historic Preservation Awards Seeking Nominations

The Tacoma Landmarks PreservationCommission is seeking nominations for the 2015 Historic Preservation Awards.Nominations are now open and are being gathered here until May 26.

The categories include:

• Residential Renovation
• Commercial Renovation
• Preservation Planning
• Policy or Initiative
• Landmark Nomination to be Recognized
• Urban Revitalization
• Leadership in Preservation
• Organization in Preservation

The awards ceremony and reception is on Sunday, May 31, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Foss Waterway Seaport (705 Dock St. in Tacoma). The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be available. Foss Waterway Seaport Curator Joseph Govednik and professional living history performer Karen Haas will perform at the event.
