56-hour ramp closure to occur near SR 7/South 38th Street interchange

At 8 a.m. on Monday, July 28, WSDOT maintenance crews will close the right lane of southbound SR 7 approaching South 38th Street, and the southbound SR 7 exit to westbound South 38th Street. Over the next three days, they will remove portions of asphalt in the closed lane, expose the drainage system and replace drains that have failed and allowed water to seep onto the roadway.

When the drainage repairs are complete, they will resurface the lane and finish the job by removing roadway debris and clearing vegetation to improve motorists’ sight distance.

The ramp and lane are scheduled to reopen by 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 30. During the ramp closure, motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
