Celebrate Transportation Options with Downtown On the Go Friday

Tacoma, Wash. – Downtown businesses will celebrate DOTG’s programs in transportation options and downtown living this Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chamber Luncheon and DOTG Annual Fundraising Luncheon, sponsored by Propel Insurance and Jacobs Engineering.

The event will honor downtown businesses and individuals through the Transportation Innovator Awards, attendees will learn about transportation projects in Tacoma, and everyone will have an opportunity to support DOTG’s work. Attendees will hear from Councilmember Ryan Mello; Michael Sullivan, Local Historian & Principal at Artifacts Consulting; Rick Williams, Executive Director, Go Lloyd, Portland; and Jonah Jensen, Senior Associate, BLRB Architects/Downtown On the Go Board President.

Downtown On the Go presents the Transportation Innovator Awards annually to acknowledge and celebrate work being done that helps meet the Downtown On the Go goal of reducing the number of single-occupancy vehicles by 11 percent by 2015. See the list of nominees on the DOTG website.

Pacific Grill Events Center (1530 Pacific Ave) is accessible by Pierce Transit and has adjacent bike parking on Pacific Ave.
