Charter Review Public Hearing on June 10

The City Council will hold a public hearing during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers (747 Market St., 1st Floor) to gather public comment and recommendations from residents for proposed changes to the City Charter. The City Charter is the city's constitution and it is reviewed every 10 years.

There can be no City Charter changes without voter approval. There will be a special municipal election in November 2014, in the event that the City Council determines that recommendations for revisions or changes should be submitted for a vote of the people.
