City Hosts “Bikes Mean Business” Workshop on Friday

City of Tacoma staff invite business owners and business district leaders to a workshop to learn how welcoming bicyclists can be a profitable marketing angle. The workshop will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Hotel Murano, 1320 Broadway, in Downtown Tacoma. A light breakfast and coffee will be served.
Consultant April Economides will discuss the “Bike Local - Shop Local” connection, its relationship to bicycle travel and share examples of what similar-sized communities around the U.S. are doing to leverage the growth of bicycling for their business districts.
Economides holds an MBA in Sustainable Management and has worked with Business Improvement Districts as a staff person and consultant for 14 years.
Please RSVP to Office of Environmental Policy and Sustainability’s Diane Wiatr at dwiatr@cityoftacoma.org. If you are not able to attend, yet would like information, please contact Ms. Wiatr at (253) 591-5380.
