City of DuPont to celebrate American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day on Saturday, June 7

The American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day® will bring together outdoor enthusiasts across the country on Saturday June 7, 2014 for the 22nd annual celebration of America’s magnificent trail system and its countless supporters and volunteers.
The City of DuPont will celebrate this national event by hosting a variety of local activities. The schedule of events will be as follows:
9:00am - Pancake Breakfast at City of DuPont Fire Department (1700 Civic Drive)
10:00am - 12:00 noon - Sequalitchew Creek Trail (begins at the trailhead located at 1700 Civic Drive)
-Learn geocaching with Washington State Geocaching Association volunteers
-Learn the History of Sequalitchew Creek and DuPont with DuPont Historical Society volunteers
-SequaliShoot Photo Challenge at Sequalitchew Creek Trail (sponsored by Kate Lynch Photographs)
10:00am - 1:00pm - DuPont Safety Fair (sponsored by DuPont Police and Fire Departments)
City of DuPont Mayor, Michael Grayum, states, “We’re very excited to participate in this national event which helps promote trails systems and outdoor recreation throughout the U.S. especially Sequalitchew Creek Trail. In DuPont, we’re very proud of our trails and their historic value to our community.”
