Daytime lane closures occur at I-5/South 38th Street interchange in Tacoma

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair a culvert, which will require the closure of two lanes during daytime hours on Thursday, March 6, and Friday, March 7. 

The closures will be in effect from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days. Pending work progress, crews may repeat the closures on Saturday, March 8. 

Lane closure details: 
• Right lane of southbound Interstate 5 exit to South 38th Street. 
• Right lane of westbound South 38th Street at I-5. 

Motorists should expect delays and increased congestion, and should plan extra travel time to reach their destinations.
