Doctor Cleo's Cooking Club Helps Fight Childhood Obesity in Tacoma

In order to help fight the growing epidemic of pediatric obesity, Molina Healthcare, in partnership with Metro Parks Tacoma, is launching a free, weekly cooking class for youth in Tacoma.
The four-week program will be held at Portland Avenue Community Center,3513 Portland Ave, Tacoma, from 3:30-5:30 pm, on Tuesdays from July 8 to 29. Students from ages eight to 12 years old will learn about nutrition, kitchen safety and how to prepare healthy and affordable meals.
The last day of the program will conclude with a graduation ceremony recognizing the participants as ‘junior chefs”. Youth will take home their very own cutting board and healthy recipes to continue their practice at home
