Ethnic Fest Art Contest Now Accepting Student Entries

Ethnic Fest 2014 will be held on July 26 and 27 in Tacoma’s Wright Park. In preparation for this annual celebration of culture and community, all Pierce County high school students are invited to participate in the Ethnic Fest Art Contest.

In addition to the pride and recognition gained by participating in the contest, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three student artist winners.

The first place winner’s artwork will be displayed during Ethnic Fest on July 26 and 27 and will be awarded $200. Second- and third-place winners’ artwork may also be used in the aforementioned manner, for which they will be compensated $100 (2nd Place) and $50 (3rd Place).

The poster contest is open to all Pierce County high school students. Submissions must be received by 5pm on Friday, May 9, 2014.

Since 1986, Ethnic Fest has grown to become the largest celebration of culture and community in Tacoma, with an estimated attendance of over 60,000 participants. Voted the best festival of the South Sound, this year Ethnic Fest takes place Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27 from noon to 7 pm at historic Wright Park in Tacoma, WA. This family-friendly, free festival has grown in size over the years and hosts Kid’s Zones, multiple stages, as well as numerous specialty arts and crafts, food and information vendor booths.
