Expect night lane closures on SR 16

TACOMA – Necessary repairs to bridge railing on the State Route 16 pedestrian bridge just east of North Jackson Avenue in Tacoma will require three westbound lanes to close. 

Crews will begin closing westbound SR 16 lanes at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22. By 10 p.m. two westbound lanes will be closed. By 11 p.m., the third lane will be closed. The right westbound lane will remain open for traffic. 

These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of motorists driving under the pedestrian bridge. 

All lanes will reopen by 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.
