Expect short delays in Tacoma for heavy equipment and material deliveries

Drivers who use the southbound I-705 on-ramp to northbound I-5 can anticipate occasional slowdowns from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 19. 

In addition to the slowdowns for access, motorists can expect the following closures to occur. 

Lane closures in areas between M Street and Portland Avenue: 
Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Dec. 15-18, there will be single followed by 10 p.m. double lane closures of southbound I-5. The lanes will reopen at 6 a.m. each following day. 

Ramp closures 

From 11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 to 4 a.m. the following day, crews will close the northbound Interstate-5 collector/distributor on-ramp to I-705/SR 7. 

City of Tacoma streets 

From 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, the left lane of East 27th Street will close near L Street. 

From 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, the left lane of East 27th Street will close near L Street. 

Continued around-the-clock ramp closures: 
Northbound State Route 7 on-ramp to southbound Interstate. 
Southbound Interstate 5 exit to State Route 7. 
A Street on-ramp to northbound I-705/I- 5.
