Game Sheets Now Available for Photo Scavenger Hunt

Join the hunt for historical Tacoma locations starting Friday, April 10, by picking up a free Historic Preservation Month Photo Scavenger Hunt game sheet from Earthwise Architectural Salvage (628 E. 60th St.) or the Children’s Museum of Tacoma (1501 Pacific Ave.).

Game sheets feature architectural photography taken from around Tacoma, which participants will need to use in this family-friendly scavenger hunt. Once participants have picked up their game sheet they will need to find the address of the photographed locations and the date the sites were built.

Participants can then bring their completed game sheet to the Photo Scavenger Hunt Reception at Earthwise Architectural Salvage on Saturday, May 2, at 1 p.m. where small prizes and refreshments will be available.

“This is a great way for families to play together and explore Tacoma, “said Volunteer Manager Jen McDonald from the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.

Game sheet photography was taken by Stadium High School students, under photography teacher Jeremy Leffel. “Working on this project has expanded our appreciation of Tacoma and its beautiful historic architecture,” said Stadium High School student Emily Lemmon.

The event is presented by the City of Tacoma Historic Preservation Office, Earthwise Architectural Salvage and the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.
