Gather: An exclusive student night at Museum of Glass

On November 22, 2013, Museum of Glass will host Gather, an event aimed at bringing university students in the Puget Sound region together to experience the delights of Museum of Glass. The event will be held from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.

Gather:

Noun: the process of collecting molten glass from the furnace on a pipe

Verb: to come together

The Museum’s goal is to increase awareness of opportunities for students, which include:

  • Sundays – free student entry
  • Internship opportunities
  • Keep updated and informed of student activities and events throughout the year on our student MOG Facebook page
  • How to be involved in the fall Student Advisory Committee (see below)

Purpose of the Student Advisory Committee: To bridge communication and interactions between Museum of Glass, university students, and their educators throughout the Puget Sound area. A committee made of students who - with their variety of skills and academic majors - connect, inspire, and assist the Museum with cultivating enriching, meaningful museum experiences for university students.

Available at Gather on November 22:

  • Hands-on glass blowing & glass fusing workshops (Available to students who have registered online. Students who did not reserve a space can add their name to a waitlist on the night of the event.)
  • Access to art galleries & hot shop
  • Free non-alcoholic beverages & bites
  • DJ and dancing
  • No host bar for 21
