Get Involved in Park(ing) Day!

Have you ever wished for more parks in downtown.  This is your chance to make it happen.  Friday, September 19 is Park(ing) day, a global day in which parking spots temporarily become public parks.

Be a part of Park(ing) Day in Tacoma by turning a downtown parking space into a park for the day.  Create an interactive park open to the public from 10am – 2pm and Downtown On the Go will help get people out to enjoy the space.   Businesses, organizations, and citizens are all encouraged to participate.

If you would like to host your own park(ing) space, please contact DOTG Coordinator, Meagan Kula at meagank@tacomachamber.org or 253-682-1734 by August 22 so we can get a permit for your space and include it in the event promotion and activities.  For inspiration, ideas, and guidelines visit www.parkingday.org.
