I-5 construction in Tacoma closes ramps, lanes 

Drivers who use Interstate 5 in Tacoma are encouraged to expect a series of night ramp closures. During the closures, crews will continue work on the I-5 - M Street to Portland Avenue – HOV project. 

The work will also include weeknight single lane closures during overnight hours in both directions of I-5 from M Street to Portland Avenue. 

Monday, Oct. 6 
At 11 p.m., crews will close the State Route 7 on-ramp to northbound I-5. The ramp will reopen at 4 a.m. the following day. 

Tuesday, Oct. 7 
At 10 p.m., crews will close the Portland Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5. The ramp will reopen at 6 a.m. the following day. 

Wednesday, Oct. 8 
At 10 p.m., crews will close the SR 7 on-ramp to southbound I-5. The ramp will reopen at 6 a.m. the following day. 

The work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled in the event of rain.
