I-5 in Tacoma will have lanes shifted, reduced and re-routed April 27-May 2

Staring the week of Monday, April 27, drivers traveling on Interstate 5 through Tacoma and Fife during the overnight hours will encounter reduced lanes, shifted lanes and detours for two HOV projects.
Crews will reduce northbound and southbound I-5 to one lane near the Puyallup River Bridge while they restripe the highway and create a construction zone in the I-5 median. The traffic shift is necessary so crews can continue construction of a new northbound I-5 bridge over the Puyallup River. This traffic shift will remain in effect around-the-clock, until this portion of the project is complete.
Dates and times for the lane closures needed for the traffic shift are as follows. This work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled.
