Jingle Bell Run: Take a Break from Holiday Hustle and Bustle
It’s December 24, and the shopping is finished, the presents are wrapped, and the kids are bouncing off the walls with excitement.
Metro Parks Tacoma will help you hit the pause button on the holiday hustle and bustle.
Come enjoy a much-deserved break while the kids burn off energy at the Jingle Bell Run, the final race in the 2014 Run the Parks series. This holiday event is a family favorite and a great way t [-sports] o spend active time outdoors during the busy holiday season.
This annual event usually sells out. This year, to accommodate more participants, there are two start times. The first wave begins at 10:30 am, and the second begins at 12 pm. Participants can sign up for the time they find most convenient.
A costume contest will reward the best holiday-themed costumes in these categories: best ugly sweater, best overall costume, best group/family costume and best dog costume.
Registration is $10 per person for the 3-mile, chip-timed event. Entry fee includes jingle bells and candy canes.
The deadline to sign up is midnight December 21. Day of race entry is $20.
Registration is also available beginning December 8 at South Sound Running stores Tacoma and Puyallup. Participants who sign up at South Sound Running will receive their race bib, timing chip and jingle bells at the time of registration.
