Lights out at Les Davis Pier due to wire theft

Several lights along Les Davis Pier will be out until further notice after wiring was reported stolen. 

Metro Parks Tacoma staff said the wiring apparently was stolen overnight. The theft affected lights from the parking lot to the path north of the dock. Temporary wire that had been run along the side of the dock for the Fourth of July celebration also was stolen. The dock’s electric vehicle charging station and fire boat area were not affected.

Les Davis Pier is a popular fishing site and dive site along Ruston Way. Metro Parks staff have filed a police report and are working on a repair cost estimate and timeline.
