Lynx Boys Wowing Visitors

There are three new Canada lynx brothers in town – two at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park near Eatonville and one at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. All three were born at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs to the same parents.

So if you love lynx – or just can’t get your fill of cute cats – head on over to the sister zoos and view these lynx boys in somewhat different settings.

Sherman and Omak, named for geographical places in Washington, spend most of their days in the Cat Country area at Northwest Trek. They can be found running, jumping, pouncing and chasing each other around the rocks, logs and trees of their forested exhibit.

You can learn more about Sherman and Omak and see more photographs of them here: www.nwtrek.org/meet-lynx-brothers/.

Jasper is being trained as an education animal at the Zoo, where he will teach hundreds of thousands of visitors each year about Canada lynx, their habitat and the challenges facing them in the wild. He’s named for the Jasper National Park area of the Canadian Rockies.
