MultiCare Nurse Camp Students to Explore Careers at CPTC

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Twenty-two high school students will visit Clover Park Technical College July 24 to explore nursing and allied health programs as part of MultiCare Health System Nurse Camp 2014.

Students will arrive at CPTC at noon for lunch and a brief presentation, and will then divide into three groups and rotate through three programs: Nursing, Hemodialysis and Medical Assistant. Students will learn from each program with hands-on stations.

The annual weeklong camp gives 100 sophomores and juniors interested in health-related careers from Pierce, South King and North Thurston Counties the chance to explore nursing careers at no cost.

Students participate in five days of education, observation and participation of professional nurses and allied health professionals. Students will also visit Pacific Lutheran University and Tacoma Community College for local nursing school campus tours July 24.

CPTC offers a variety of health sciences programs to prepare students for rewarding careers in health care.
