NEW Nurture Healing Center Community Clinic
Beginning in May and continuing for the duration of the Downtown Tacoma Thursday Farmers Market, Nurture Healing Center is offering alternative healthcare mini sessions. Acupuncture, quick release therapy, and manual ligament therapy are offered by licensed medical practitioners each Thursday from 11AM-4PM on a walk in basis, with a suggested donation of $20.00 for each 15 minute session.
Nurture Healing Center, at 739 St Helens Ave, has been providing alternative healthcare to Tacoma’s downtown community since 2009, with the objective of caring for both the individual and the community at large. Practitioners offer an array of services, including acupuncture, massage, ligament therapy, facials and waxing. The Healing Center’s event space offers classes led by experts providing learning and growth opportunities for the mind and spirit, as well as space to host parties, yoga, and hula hooping classes. Nichole Connelly, owner of Nurture Healing Center, wants people to know that “we genuinely want to partner with them to enhance their health. Our goal is to serve those who otherwise cannot afford acupuncture or massage-people who work in physically demanding jobs who might not have medical insurance, but need care. ” Creative payment and service trade options are available, and donations are suggested. The goal is to provide ongoing preventative alternative health care to those in need, no matter what they can afford. The staff at Nurture is dedicated to meeting the needs of community members who need alternative healthcare and may not have access to it. “Traditional medical clinics are available in Tacoma, but there is no one offering CAM (Complimentary and Alternative Medicine) as a community clinic to serve uninsured and low income people. This is a trial run- we would really love to offer this type of clinic year round. We see a strong need for this in Tacoma.”
15 minute acupuncture, quick release, and ligament therapy sessions are available at Nurture Healing Center, 739 St Helens Ave, on a walk in basis from 11 AM- 4PM Thursdays from May-October, for a suggested cash donation of $20.00.
